Interstate 10 Closure Planned At Date Palm Drive

Eastbound Interstate 10 at Date Palm Drive will be closed overnight tonight for bridge work, with a similar closure planned tomorrow night for the westbound freeway.

Eastbound I-10 at Date Palm will be closed from 8 tonight to 4 a.m. tomorrow, while westbound I-10 will be closed at Date Palm from 9 p.m. tomorrow to 4 a.m. Wednesday morning. Crews will be installing bridge falsework, county Transportation Department spokesman Dennis Green said.

Traffic will be detoured at the Date Palm off-ramps and diverted back onto the freeway at the on-ramps, Green said.

On Saturday, the No. 2 lane on westbound I-10 east of Coachella will be closed from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. for rail repair, according to Caltrans.
