Journalist killed in Brazil
The Maranhao state public safety department says in a statement posted Tuesday on its website that the gunman fired six bullets into the head and chest of political reporter Decio Sa in a restaurant in the capital city of Sao Luis on Monday night.
Sa died instantly and the killer fled on a motorcycle driven by an accomplice who was waiting outside.
Police tell the G1 news website they believe the murder was the work of a gun for hire.
Sa worked for the O Estado de Maranhao newspaper and wrote a blog on what goes on behind the scenes of local politics.
