Motorcyclist Killed In Accident On Gene Autry Trail

A motorcyclist is dead after colliding with a truck on Gene Autry Trail in Palm Springs Monday night.

The accident happened around 4:45 P.M. on Gene Autry Trail and 7 Lakes Rd. Palm Springs Police on scene say that it appears the driver of a white truck was going Eastbound on 7 Lakes when it tried to go across Gene Autry in front of the motorcycle. The truck collided with the motorcycle and ended up crashing into a home on the other side of the intersection.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Emergency crews also had to deal with a small gas leak at the home that the truck crashed into. No one was in the house at the time of the collision.

Police say Gene Autry could be closed for hours as they investigate the deadly crash.
