Cathedral City man killed by driverless car
A Cathedral city man was killed Monday after he was struck by a driverless car.
Police said an unoccupied vehicle hit Jose Monjaras, 48, yesterday afternoon when it rolled down a driveway then across the street.The vehicle came to rest in the front yard of a residence.
The deadly incident happened at 2 p.m. along the 67000 block of Peineta road.Monjaras was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs with severe injuries.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital an hour later.
