Temecula district rejects school drug sting claim

A Riverside County school district has rejected a claim that an autistic boy arrested for selling marijuana at school was a victim of discrimination.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise says the claim was rejected Tuesday by the Temecula Valley Unified School District. A lawsuit could be next.

The boy was one of 22 students arrested in December in a sting operation at two schools. He received probation.

Meanwhile, parents of another boy filed a claim this week over a drug sting. They claim a Temecula middle school official recruited an eighth-grader with a learning disability to pose as bait to catch a pot-dealing student.

The claim says the sting went ahead even though the mother objected, and it put her son in harm’s way.

The district says it’s reviewing the claim.
