Indio fire scorches garage, now under investigation
The cause of a small garage fire in Indio is under investigation this morning.
It happened at the intersection of Avenue 50 and Monroe Street shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Flames scorched a portion of wood piled in the 800 square-foot garage that also housed a wood shop, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.
Fire crews worked quickly and were able to put out the blaze within 30 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
