More than 100 revelers arrested at So. Cal beaches
More than 100 people who partied on Southern California beaches this Fourth of July are probably waking up to headaches and big fines.
Newport Beach police say they made 123 arrests, mostly related to public drinking, by early Friday morning. More than 50 other arrests were made in nearby Huntington Beach and Hermosa Beach.
Many of those arrested were jailed until they sobered up and they could face hundreds of dollars in fines.
The Fourth draws tens of thousands of people to Newport and surrounding beaches every year.
This year, though, police say there were no major incidents and things seemed more peaceful generally.
