Inland Empire gas price rises fifth consecutive day
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire rose Monday for the fifth consecutive day, increasing a half-cent to $4.044.
The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is 3.3 cents more than one week ago, 7.1 cents higher than one month ago and 36 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has risen 3.4 cents over the past five days, including 1 cent on Sunday.
The rising prices stem from concerns over supplies caused by “exports of refined gasoline to more profitable markets overseas and continued refinery issues,” according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
