Inland Empire gas price drops 7th consecutive day

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire dropped Wednesday for the seventh consecutive day, falling 1.3 cents to $3.96.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is 5.3 cents less than one week ago and 15.7 cents lower than one year ago but 13.1 cents more than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The latest string of falling prices followed a 10-day streak of price hikes.

The dropping prices are the result of a resolution of supply issues that had caused the latest increases in prices, according to Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
