Palm Springs revs up for annual food drive

The city of Palm Springs’ kicks off it’s annual holiday food drive on Monday.

People can bring food to the lobby of City Hall, 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, and the public library, 300 S. Sunrise Way, throughout December. The food will go to FIND Food Bank in Indio, according to city spokeswoman Amy Blaisdell.

People are also encouraged to bring canned food to the city’s holiday tree lighting at 5 p.m. Dec. 5 in Frances Stevens Park, 555 N. Palm Canyon Drive, added Blaisdell.

FIND distributes food to Coachella Valley residents through local soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, after-school programs and senior centers.
