Idyllwild features lights, action and holiday fun for the family

Yuletide cheer comes alive at Idyllwild’s 53rd annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday afternoon at 4:15 at the Village Center with a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The family event organized by Phyliss Mueller has festivities going on throughout the day, including two workshops with Santa and Mrs. Claus from Noon to 2 p.m. and also from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Max the dog who serves as “mayor” of the mountain community and his canine ”deputy mayors” will be on hand for the fun.

The Idyllwild Master Chorale Chamber Singers perform throughout the town all day and during the lighting ceremony.

“Village Center and Park Lane will be closed from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.”, according to Mueller. The area will be selling baked goods and holiday treats.
