Motorcycle crash caused by woman driving drunk

Two people riding on a motorcycle in Palm Springs were taken to the hospital Monday afternoon with serious injuries after crashing into a woman’s car who was driving drunk, according to police.

Authorities arrested 27 year old Kelli Lyn Mihos for DUI.

The accident happened around 1 p.m. on Ramon Road and Calle Abronia. Mihos was driving a Mini Cooper westbound when she turned in front of a Yamaha motorcycle, according to witnesses.

The motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Ramon when it hit Mihos’ car. A 26 year old man and 21 year old female were ejected from the motorcycle and taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police said in a statement.

Mihos, from San Diego, was slightly injured in the crash.

Officers determined Mihos had been drinking when they arrived to investigate.

She was arrested for DUI causing injury and taken to the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
