Photo released of Wells Fargo bank robber
Indio Police are searching for a man who got away on a bicycle with an undisclosed amount of money stolen from a Wells Fargo bank in Indio.
The robbery happened around 4 p.m. Friday, February 7, at the bank located at 45-020 Monroe Street. Indio police released the surveillance photo of the suspect a couple of weeks after the robbery because they thought they knew the identity of the robber.
After realizing it wasn’t the same suspect, they released the photo in hopes someone may recognize the man.
No weapon was seen, and no one was hurt.The suspect was seen leaving the area on the north side of the bank on a black medium-sized BMX bicycle traveling east bound from the bank parking lot.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult between 30-35 years old with a medium build, dark hair, and a goatee. He was wearing a white and black baseball cap with white letters “DC” on the front of the cap.
Indio Police report thatupon arrival, officers were told by the bank staff that a male adult had entered the bank and approached a bank teller. The suspect displayed a note to the bank teller that demanded money from the bank. The bank teller complied with the suspect’s demands and the suspect then left the bank via the south main doors of the bank towards the parking lot. He got on his bike and headed east.
