2 sex offenders arrested after sweep

Two men were arrested after a sexual registrant compliance sweep was conducted by the Cabazon Station.

Officers searched over 50 homes of registered sex offenders from February 20th to March 4th in Cherry Valley, Cabazon, Whitewater, North Palm Springs and Calimesa.

According to police, six probation searches and three parole searches took place during the operation.

Two men were found to be out of compliance during the sweep.

Gregory Phillips, 45, from North Palm Springs was arrested on March 3rd for a parole violation. Cabazon resident Leon Adamczeski, 52, was taken into custody on February 25th for violating a requirement of his sex offender registration, officers said in a statement.

Both men were booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.

Police also filed an arrest warrant for 26-year-old James Reitsma of Cherry Valley for violating a registered sex offender requirement.
