Stabbing at La Quinta restaurant sends man to hospital

Police are investigating an overnight stabbing at a La Quinta bar and grill located off of Hwy. 111 and Washington Street.

Officers responded to reports of a fight at the Beer Hunter Pub and Grill at 12:30 Monday morning. The investigation revealed that two men were fighting in the patio area.

During the fight, a 50 year old white man from La Quinta was stabbed in the torso. He was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury, according to police.

The suspect left the bar in an unknown vehicle. Witnesses describe him a a Hispanic man with a shaved head. He’s about 5’5″ and 210 lbs. They said he was wearing a white t-shirt.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Edward Ortega at the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Thermal Station at (760) 863-8305.
