Car partially descends into street after manhole shifts

It’s not something you see everyday; a car ending up with one tire submerged into a manhole.

It happened to a driver on Thursday afternoon at the Highway 111 and Cook Street intersection.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said the car drove over a manhole that wasn’t secure around 12:30 p.m. The manhole shifted and one of the vehicle’s tires went flat after getting stuck in the hole.

Nobody was hurt during the incident but some traffic delays took place while crews removed the car from the road and secured the manhole.
