Palm Springs to offer non-stop flights to Chicago
American Airlines will begin daily non-stop service between Chicago-O’Hare International Airport and Palm Springs International Airport beginning October 2, 2014, according to an announcement on Tuesday by the Greater Palm Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The flight was originally scheduled to begin Nov. 6, 2014.
Increased air access is one of the strategic initiatives set by the CVB Board of Directors in 2013. The CVB worked with American to secure the earlier date and ensure this important hub airport is served during a critical time period.
“We are pleased that American has agreed to begin service early,” stated Scott White, President /CEO, Greater Palm Springs CVB. “October is a very busy month for meetings and conventions, and the earlier service is important for our clients and their delegates. The combination of our new and enhanced hotels and resorts, endless sunshine and increased air service will make Greater Palm Springs a natural fit for groups looking for a destination to hold their future meetings.”
Currently, Palm Springs International Airport is serviced by ten airlines and welcomes visitors from over 500 cities around the world.
