Small plane crashes on city street
Authorities in Northern California say a light plane lost power and was forced to make a crash landing in a street.
The Fresno Bee reports the single-engine aircraft landed just south of a runway near the Sierra Sky Park in northwest Fresno Sunday morning.
No injuries were reported as the pilot and two other passengers on the plane were not hurt.
Fresno Fire Battalion Chief Rich Cabral says the pilot from Clovis flew to Madera and was returning to Fresno when his plane lost power, causing it to crash in the street near the privately-owned airport.
Fire officials have secured the area as the plane’s wings and undercarriage were damaged.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board both have been notified of the crash.
