Hundreds vye for 20 open jobs at new Hard Rock Hotel restaurant
“The music, the attitude. We are so used to country clubs and tennis courts this is different,” Jocelyn Almeida said. “We are bringing a different scene to the desert it shows its growing.”
The list of reasons so many people want to work at the Hard Rock Hotel’s new restaurant Simon Kitchen + Bar goes on and on.
“You have to be willing to make people happy and be positive. We have a lot of big events you have to be on you’re a game,” Therese Everett from the Hard Rock Hotel said.
A line wrapped around the room, hundreds of eager candidates. Call backs will be done by this Friday so the hotel can have everyone hired by next week.
“I have a lot of experience in customer service. I’d like to bring that back. I moved and the desert has so many opportunities for us coming back,” Almeida said.
The restaurant is the latest from celebrity chef Kerry Simon. He won Iron Chef in 2005 and is also known for his legendary eateries in Los Angeles, Chicago, Las Vegas, and abroad.
“A mix, a mix of comfort food and standards and it’s really fun,a fun menu,” Everett said.
The restaurant is set to open mid September.
