10 people arrested in massive high desert pot bust
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s investigators seized more than 3,000 marijuana plants while serving search warrants in the high desert Wednesday.
We got an exclusive look into some of these operations, which detectives say have doubled since last year in the county. The plants were found in the Joshua Tree and Landers communities, in fenced-in areas around homes.
Detectives raided six large-scale outdoor marijuana growing operations they’d been following for several weeks. The unsecured locations and the large amount seized indicated the growers did not comply with state medical marijuana laws. Ten people were taken into custody.
Look for my special report in September.
