Drunk man arrested after crashing into mobile home

Police arrested a 55-year-old man on Tuesday after he apparently crashed his truck into a mobile home in Rancho Mirage.

Witnesses reported the crash to police at about 4:15 p.m. It happened near Peterson Road and Highway 111, according to the Rancho Mirage Police Department.

Officers determined Terry Smith of Rancho Mirage was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Smith was arrested and booked into the Riverside County Jail for driving under the influence. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Rancho Mirage Police Department at (760) 836-1600.
