Two accidents on the 60 cause major traffic jam

California Highway Patrol says two accidents that occurred around 9 a.m. Sunday caused a major traffic jam on the 60 Westbound in what’re called The Badlands, near Jack Rabbit Trail, west of where the 60 and 10 split in Moreno Valley.

CHP says around 8:50 a.m., two vehicles crashed, one of which overturned, on Jack Rabbit Trail. About 10 minutes later, a black Chevy pick-up truck spun out and was facing oncoming traffic as it turned to avoid the accident.

Police called for two tow trucks, but traffic prevented them from reaching the scene quickly. About an hour later, at 10 a.m., police opened one lane. No one was hurt.

The investigation is still ongoing; we will update this page as we learn more.
