We’re exactly a month from the November 4th mid-term election, and here in the Coachella Valley, the race between incumbent Congressman Raul Ruiz and his challenger Assemblyman Brian Nestande is heating up.

Congressman Raul Ruiz faced off with challenger Assemblyman Brian Nestande in a debate representing the 36th Congressional District on Sunday night from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

It’s also getting down to crunch time with only four weeks left to the election, and the candidates are urging voters to make sure their vote counts.

Our viewer voter poll has closed as of 8:45 a.m. Tuesday. According to those who voted on our web poll, 57% felt Assemblyman Brian Nestande did a better job in the congressional debate, as opposed to 43 % voting for Congressman Ruiz . Assemblyman Nestande received 1,442 votes while Congressman Ruiz received 1,091 votes.
