Float applications being accepted for Festival of Lights Parade
Float applications are now being accepted for the 23rd annual Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade. The city’s signature holiday event takes place Saturday, December 6 in downtown Palm Springs.
The parade begins at 5:45 p.m. on Palm Canyon Drive and Ramon Road. According to city officials, the event brings an estimated 100,000 spectators to view the marching bands and twinkling holiday floats adorned in thousands of magical colored lights.
Coordinators said you won’t want to miss the wildly popular Macy’s-style holiday balloons along with Santa and his reindeer on the spectacular Jackie Lee Houston Santa Claus Express.
The deadline to submit a float application is Wednesday, November 12. Download an Application
This year’s Celebrity Grand Marshal, who will lead the procession down Palm Canyon Drive, is Lisa Vanderpump, the former Queen of the Palm Springs White Party and one of the stars of Bravo-TV’s hit reality series, ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’.
“The Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade is the biggest and best holiday parade in the entire Coachella Valley,” said Mayor Steve Pougnet. “Bring the whole family and visit downtown on Saturday, December 6 as we celebrate the spirit of the holiday season in Palm Springs, like no place else.”
The presenting sponsor of this year’s parade is P.S. Resorts.
