Firefighters battle blaze along I-10 near Beaumont

Update 3:30 p.m. Cal Trans says Cal Fire will be blocking the number 4 lane for the next two hours near the Pennsylvania Street exit, while they continue to put out a fire running along the freeway. Cal Fire says the fire consists of a large strip of vegetation and trees.

Cal Fire is on scene of a small fire near Interstate 10 near Pennsylvania exit. The fire sparked up just after 2:30 p.m. at Michigan Avenue and 5th Street that runs near the Freeway.

According to California Highway Patrol and Cal Trans, 2 Westbound lanes near the fire area are blocked, to allow firefighters access to fight the fire.
