Palm Springs police are looking for a man who crashed a stolen car Tuesday night and fled the scene.

Just before midnight, officers were called to a traffic collision in the 600 block of East Vista Chino. They saw two vehicles were involved in a crash and one person remained at the scene with minor injuries.

A 2007 red Honda Fit four-door was one of the cars involved in the crash and police learned it was stolen out of Palm Springs earlier in the day. The suspect driving the stolen car fled before police arrived.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find him.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 30’s, 5’10”, 200 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, according to the police department’s release.

The other driver who was injured in the crash was released at the scene.

Police ask anyone with information about the collision or the stolen vehicle to call Valley Crime Stoppers at 760-341-7867 or the Palm Springs Police Department at 760-323-8115.
