Missing woman’s body found in Big Bear Lake

A woman’s body found in Big Bear Lake has been positively identified as that of Lisa Ann Cimbaluk of Irvine, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reported Friday.

Cimbaluk, 35, was last seen on Dec. 29 at the home of her parents, who reported her missing the following day, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Her empty car was found covered in snow at the Woodland Trailhead in Fawnskin on Sunday.

About 10 a.m. Thursday, San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies doing an aerial search in a helicopter spotted the body, said Jodi Miller of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

“The coroner positively identified the female … as Lisa Ann Cimbaluk,” the sheriff’s department reported in a statement Friday morning.

“Examinations will be conducted in order to determine the cause of Cimbaluk’s death.”

The investigation is being conducted by personnel from the sheriff’s Big Bear Station.
