Coachella man facing child endangerment charges after DUI crash

A Coachella man will go before a judge Wednesday accused of driving under the influence and putting three kids in danger.

Police say Moises Montufar, 50, crashed his car into another vehicle stopped at the intersection of Harrison Street and Baghdad Avenue in Coachella at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Three children, ages, 5, 10 and 11, were in the car with Montufar. Two of the children had minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

The children were temporarily placed in the custody of a relative.

Montufar was driving while on probation for a past DUI conviction. He remains in custody at the Riverside County jail in Indio on $50,000 bail.
