Cal Fire contains house fire in Desert Hot Springs

Firefighters have put out a residential structure fire in Desert Hot Springs that was reported just after 2 p.m.

According to Cal Fire, the blaze sparked in the 10400 block of Cactus Drive. When firefighters arrived on scene, heavy smoke was seen coming from the home.

Firefighters were able to contain it by 2:27 p.m. Officials said a bedroom and living room were damaged in the fire. Nobody was injured as a result of the fire and the cause is currently under investigation.
