Humana Challenge tees off with healthy activities

The 2015 Humana Challenge week will kick off with a weekend of healthy community activities on Saturday, January 17, at the La Quinta Civic Center Campus.

According to officials, the festivities begin with a community walk around the campus, encouraging people to join friends and family to get moving together. Immediately following the walk, participants will be able to enjoy the Humana Healthy Fun Fair.

This year’s fair will feature live music, fitness demonstrations hosted by local experts, the Humana booth with the return of fan-favorite Blender Bikes, free biometrics screenings, the Vitality HealthyFood Kiosk, the brand new Humana Health and Well-Being Quiz, plus a variety of healthy games and activities from area vendors that the entire family can enjoy, officials said in a release.

Registration for this year’s walk begins at 8 a.m. Saturday. At this time, participants can learn more about downloading the free Charity Miles app to make every mile of the Well-Being Walk count for charity.

The Well-Being Walk takes place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the Healthy Fun Fair goes from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The La Quinta Civic Center Campus is located at 78495 Calle Tampico.
