UPDATE: Elderly missing Palm Desert man found
UPDATE: Milton Darrell Osteen has been found unharmed.
On Sunday at about 1:50 a.m., the Palm Desert Police Department received information that Osteen was located by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department in Rancho Cucamonga.
At about 1:45 a.m., a San Bernardino County Deputy Sheriff stopped a red Mitsubishi Outlander traveling on Baseline Rd. near the I-15 and identified the driver as Osteen.
Osteen was disoriented, but uninjured and in overall good spirits and health. Milton was taken to a nearby hospital for a medical evaluation where he is expected to be reunited with his wife.
At this point, dementia is believed to be the cause of Osteen’s disappearance. The driving paths, times or areas traveled during his disappearance are unknown at this time and are unlikely to ever be determined, according to police.
The Palm Desert Police Department is appreciative of all efforts made by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department in this search, and of all the San Bernardino area citizens who took note of Milton’s disappearance and made efforts in their commutes to locate him.

Police are searching for an elderly Palm Desert man reported missing by his wife Saturday afternoon.
On Saturday, at about 5:45 p.m., officers of the Palm Desert Police Department responded to the 73-600 block of El Paseo Dr., Palm Desert, in reference to a report of an at-risk missing person.
A preliminary investigation determined that Milton Darrell Osteen, 71 of Palm Desert was last seen by his wife at 9:45 a.m. today, when he drove her to work. Osteen was expected by his wife at 4:20 p.m., but never arrived. Osteen has not been seen or heard from since.
Electronic evidence obtained indicates that Milton Osteen may currently be in the San Bernardino area. Milton suffers of dementia and does not have extensive experience navigating freeways or areas outside of the Coachella Valley.
Milton Darrell Osteen is described as a white male adult, 6’00” tall, 210 lbs., gray hair, brown eyes and light skin. He was last seen wearing an unknown-color plaid shirt, brown pants, brown shoes and socks.
Milton is believed to be driving a red, 2005 Mitsubishi Outlander Sports Utility Vehicle, CA#5LXJ990.
