21-year-old man gunned down in Cathedral City

We’re learning new details after a Cathedral City man was shot and killed while hanging out with friends in his garage early Saturday morning.

The shooting happened just before 1 a.m. along Cathedral Canyon Drive and Dinah Shore Drive.

News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 spoke with a family member of the man who was killed. They identified him to us as 21-year-old Arnufo Rubio, who went by the nickname ‘Bofo’.

We’re told the garage door was cracked open when someone walked into the garage and opened fire.

We obtained the evidence report from the scene. Police pulled at least five guns and hundreds of rounds of ammo from a room in the home. They also confiscated marijuana and a digital scale.

The evidence was seized from someone else who lived in the house, not from Rubio.

The investigation is ongoing. If you have information regarding the shooting, call Valley Crime Stoppers at 760-3417867.
