Reward offered in California dog burning case
Authorities in Sacramento County are offering an $8,000 reward to help find the person who set fire to a dog in a pet travel crate – the fourth in a series of animal cruelty cases in the area in a month.
The most recent case involves a dog that was found burned to death in the crate on a sidewalk in the Arden Arcade area.
The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District has teamed with the Humane Society and other donors to offer the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
Officials are also investigating three other abuse cases. One involves a dog that was found with a collar on so tight it had to be surgically removed. That animal is recovering.
