Health Matters Summit gathers in Indian Wells

Some of the world’s leading innovators in health are in Indian Wells on Monday speaking with former President Bill Clinton about insurance, clinical care, cancer treatment, food systems, and the health environment.

They’re talking about business models and how to grow the industry.

Over the weekend, Clinton said people look to the Coachella Valley for leading healthcare practices.

Other topics — instilling good health and literacy practices in our youth, as well as taking care of our veterans.

“They have to feel that connection again to know that there are people who are there to serve them because they made a vow to serve us,” said Dave Zinczenko, editorial director of Men’s Health. “We want to be there for the returning veterans and make sure fitness is at the foundation of that.”

The Health Matters Summit is an annual event that showcases what the Clinton Foundation’s Health Matters Initiative and its strategic partners from across sectors – business, technology, sports and philanthropy – are doing to create systemic health improvement throughout the United States, according to the organization’s website.
