According to the California Highway Patrol, officers tried to pull over 30-year-old Nicholas Rios of Vista around 11 p.m. for a traffic violation near the CHP headquarters in Indio.

Rios refused to stop. The pursuit ended when Rios drove through a security arm at the Oasis Country Club in Palm Desert, located on Hovely Lane East, between Cook Street and Washington Street.

The pickup truck Rios was driving finally stopped in a cul-de-sac and he was arrested. Officers said he’s facing charges of DUI, felony evading and possession of methamphetamine.
