Indio PD searching for armed robbery suspect

UPDATE: Suspect arrested on active armed robbery warrant

The Indio Police Department is looking for the public’s help to find 20-year-old Narcisco Jacob Pea.

Pea is wanted for the armed robbery of four victims on Jan. 18 in the 80700 block of Diamondback Trail in the City of Indio.

During the robbery, a police car was on routine patrol in the area and interrupted the robbery in progress.

When Pea and his accomplice fled police, they dropped several items in the victim’s car including two handguns.

Pea’s accomplice, 19-year-old Jose Jacob Rodriguez, was taken into custody a few days later.

Police almost captured Pea on Jan 29. Detectives with the Indio Police Department attempted to stop a car where Pea was a passenger and 31-year-old Richard “Snoop” Alvarez was the driver.

They were in the area of Jackson Street and Keener Avenue. A marked police vehicle attempted to stop the vehicle when Alvarez immediately failed to yield and led police on a chase.

Alvarez fled from officers at speeds of 80 MPH through a school zone. School was in session at the time. Officers were unable to keep up with the fleeing vehicle and lost site of the car, a grey Lexus IS300.

Detectives found the vehicle abandoned a short time later on Verbena Avenue. A search of the area was conducted and Alvarez was located and arrested without incident.

Pea is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who knows about Pea’s whereabouts should call Valley Crimestoppers at 760 341-STOP.
