Deputies investigate shooting in 29 Palms

Deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department are investigating after a man was shot in Twentynine Palms Friday morning.

According to the sheriff’s department, deputies were called to the 73100 block of Sunnyvale Drive around 9:20 a.m. after someone reported a man yelling about being shot. When deputies arrived, they found the victim with a graze wound.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Deputies searched in the area of Twentynine Palms High School and Oasis Elementary School but didn’t find any suspects. They said Oasis Elementary School was on lock-down temporarily during their search.

Parents said Twentynine Palms High School was also briefly locked-down during the search. The school district got the word out as soon as possible via phone and email.
