Man shot while riding bike in Desert Hot Springs

One man was shot while riding his bike in Desert Hot Springs early Thursday evening, according to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.

Just after 5 p.m., officers said they responded to the 66500 block of Cahuilla Avenue just east of Palm Drive. They found the victim, a black man who hasn’t been identified, suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.

The victim was rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening wounds, according to police.

They are looking for a black car that was seen leaving the area just after the shooting.
