Deputies called to hospital disorder following deadly shooting
Authorities in San Bernardino County were called to Loma Linda University Medical Center early Wednesday morning after nearly 100 people became disorderly with hospital staff following the death of a shooting victim.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, deputies from multiple stations responded to the disturbance, which occurred at the emergency room and parking lot of the hospital around 7 a.m.
Officials said close to 75 family members/friends of shooting victims being treated in the hospital were involved and they had all fled before deputies arrived.
Hospital officials told the sheriff’s department the crowd became combative with staff and security after learning that one of the shooting victims had died.
The sheriff’s department didn’t have any immediate details regarding the shooting. News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 will post more information as soon as it’s available.
Officals said nobody was hurt during the hospital disturbance. Deputies from the Central Station, Grand Terrace, Loma Linda and Highland stations were all called to the scene, as well as officers from the San Bernardino Police Department and Redlands Police Department.
