CVUSD approves pay increase for employees

The Coachella Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees voted for a pay increase for its classified and administrative employees at a special board meeting on Tuesday.

Superintendent Darryl Adams stated, “On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am happy to announce that the CVUSD Board has unanimously voted approval of a 5% pay increase for classified and administrative team members effective April 1, 2015. This amounts to a minimum compensation increase of 10% for school years 13/14 and 14/15.”

Administrative employees include human resources, office assistants, secretaries, etc.

Classified employees include bus drivers, some office staff, food service, maintenance, clerks, custodians, mechanics, and technology positions, according to the California School Employees Association.

Superintendent Adams said, “Members of the CVUSD team are valued and responsible members of our team and truly support the overall mission of college, career and citizenship preparation for our students.”
