Man arrested for groping girls at Indio Target
Cell phone video sent to News Channel 3 by viewer Jose Vega shows a man being detained by security officers at the Target Superstore on Jackson Street in Indio Sunday afternoon.
“I saw the guys come back and get him and push him into one of those racks to try to stop him but he was like fighting to try to get away,” Vega said, describing the scene.
Not knowing why the man was being detained, Vega said he took his camera out because the suspect kept saying his rights were being violated.
“This is illegal, I’m going to sue the store,” the suspect was heard saying in the video.
“I’ve seen videos on Facebook of cops messing around and hurting people who weren’t doing anything and I thought that’s what was going on,” Vega said.
Vega quickly changed his mind about the situation when security officers asked for Indio police to be called to the scene.
“One of the guys was like, ‘Can I get a police officer over here because the guy was exposing himself to a little girl.’ And I was like damn, good thing I recorded this,” Vega said.
Indio police arrived and arrested 33-year-old Albert Robison of Scottsdale, Arizona. He was arrested on two felony charges of lewd and lascivious acts upon a child over 14, and a misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure.
Target employees had tracked him using their security cameras, and saw him following female employees before they say he exposed himself and groped two teenage girls.
“It’s pretty crazy and parents should watch their kids. They shouldn’t leave them wandering around in the toy section because something like that could happen and you just have to be more careful,” Vega said.
