Pool will remain closed Tuesday
The community pool at Fritz Burns park in La Quinta will remain closed Tuesday after a fire scorched part of the building.
It happened just before 6:00 p.m. Monday night inside the women’s restroom.
Cal Fire says it caused $5,000 in damage to the electrical system that will have to be repaired.
Firefighters put out the flames within minutes, preventing the fire from spreading to the rest of the building.
Cal Fire believes says the nature of the fire is suspicious and it remains under investigation.
