CVUSD shares education program at White House

The Coachella Valley Unified School District’s Wall-to-Wall Academy program was shared during the ‘National Week of Making’ event held at the White House on Monday morning.

District officials said the two programs are similar and designed to engage students in science, technology, engineering, math, arts, athletics, and learning. Now the successes of CVUSD’s program are aiming to help grow the maker movement across the country.

Officials said the Wall-to-Wall program has garnered national attention by educators as it offers students the opportunity to learn and grow in a STEM/STEAM (science, technology, engineering, and math) focused program.

The program offers students the necessary courses to attend a four-year university and inspires them to become inventors, creators, makers, and not just consumers, according to the CVUSD release.

CVUSD is a member of the Digital Promise League of Innovative Schools, which officials said is also garnering attention for the district. Another stepping stone for the school district was making the digital conversion to a 21st Century school system that provides viable options to students upon graduation, according to the release.
