Homeowner interrupts burglary in Indio

Indio police are looking for two men after a homeowner caught them attempting to burglarize his storage shed on the 51500 block of Monroe Street.

Police were called around 3:30 p.m.

One of the suspects was waiting inside a black Acura, with ‘Unicar’ paper plates, while the other man attempted to steal items from the storage shed. Officers said the suspect allegedly pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at the victim when he interrupted the burglary. The homeowner wasn’t injured.

The two men fled in the Acura and police continue to search for them. It’s unclear at this time if the suspects made off with any stolen property.

News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 will deliver more details when we hear back from the Indio Police Department.
