UPDATE: Firefighters contain house fire in Indian Wells Country Club

It took nearly 50 firefighters about three hours to get a handle on a stubborn blaze that began in the attic of a home at the Indian Wells Country Club Monday morning.

Cal Fire says the fire first erupted just before 11:30 a.m. on the 77-000 block of Shasta Lane. Cal Fire Riverside spokeswoman April Newman said the home’s custom architecture complicated firefighting efforts and prompted incident commanders to call for additional help.

The blaze spread to the living quarters of the home before being brought under control around 2:30 p.m. Cal fire says Firefighters were able to save 60% of the structure and salvaged nearly 70% of the interior. The total loss is estimated at $150,000 dollars but saved over 2-million dollars.
