Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians unveils new statue

A city-planned event in Palm Springs forced some lane closures Friday morning from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians unveiled a new statue at the corner of E. Tahquitz Canyon Way and North Sunrise Way.

Officers advised drivers to avoid Tahquitz Canyon Way between Avenida Caballeros to Sunrise Way from 8 a.m to noon while the event took place. All eastbound lanes and the No. 1 westbound lane were closed during that time.
