DUI suspect arrested following hit-and-run in La Quinta
A Coachella man is under arrest following a hit-and-run crash in La Quinta Sunday morning.
Around 9:00 a.m. 22-year-old Jonathon Martin was driving on Highway 111 near Dune Palms Road when Riverside County Sheriff Department says he rear ended a white truck stopped at a red light.
He took off, but a witness reportedly followed him to Avenue 48 and Jackson Street in Coachella before losing sight of him.
Deputies were able to find Martin in parking nearby. He was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and a hit-and-run.
The driver of the white truck was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries and released.
