Police arrest couple growing marijuana in Beaumont home

Beaumont police uncovered an indoor marijuana growing operation that also was endangering the life of a six year old child.

According to Beaumont Police the served a search warrant at a home in the 35-000 block of Trevino Trail after a concerned resident contacted them about suspicious activity.

Police say they found 300 marijuana plants and nearly 47 pounds of marijuana inside the house where the two suspects live with their 6-year-old child.

Two bedrooms next to the child’s room were converted into marijuana grow rooms, police said. Detectives determined the living conditions were harmful and endangered the child’s health and safety.

Jamie Roper Verway, 39, was arrested on suspicion of marijuana cultivation and child endangerment, police said. Alison Rae Plummer, 37, was arrested for suspicion of child endangerment.

They were booked into the Riverside County Smith Correctional Facility from which records indicate Plummer was released Thursday with a February 17 arraignment date.

The child was taken into protective custody by Riverside County Child Protective Services, police said.
