California Walmart closures announced
Walmart has announced that it will be closing 269 stores this year; 154 in the United States. According to Walmart’s list, nine of the locations are in California, five of which are Neighborhood Markets.

151 E 5th St., Long Beach, CA
8400 Edgewater Drive, Oakland, CA
4101 Crenshaw Blvd., Los Angeles, CA
California Neighborhood Market closures:
2408 Lincoln Ave., Altadena, CA
6820 Eastern Ave., Bell Gardens, CA
701 W Cesar E Chavez Ave., Los Angeles, CA
2045 E Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA
12120 Carson St., Hawaiian Gardens, CA
No locations in the Coachella Valley are slated to close.

Walmart’s release stated that the closures are a move to focus on strengthening Supercenters, optimizing Neighborhood Markets, growing the e-commerce business and expanding pickup services for customers.
