CHP Indio Area releases Memorial Day DUI arrest stats

The California Highway Patrol Indio Area released the Memorial Day weekend traffic report detailing DUI arrests and traffic collisions.

Officer said two deadly collisions occurred. A 17-year-old from Thermal died in a rollover crash near the intersection of Harrison Street and 68th Avenue just after 1 a.m. Saturday, and a toddler died in a rollover crash near Desert Center that same day at about 3 p.m.

Officers said 18 people were arrested on charges of driving under the influence; up seven from last year’s holiday weekend.
